American National Names John H. Settle to Head Trust & Investment Services Division

DANVILLE, VA – American National Bank and Trust Company, the bank subsidiary of American National Bankshares Inc. (the “Company” - NASDAQ: AMNB), has named John H. Settle, Jr. as EVP and President of Trust and Investment Services, announced Jeffrey V. Haley, president and CEO. Settle joins the Company with over 30 years of experience guiding clients in growing, managing, protecting and transferring wealth.

As of September 30, 2016, American National Trust and Investment Services manages $780 million of trust, investment and brokerage assets.

“Trust and Investment Services is a significant part of our Company,” Haley said. “It has a long tradition of serving customers, and now we are serving not only the children of our earliest customers, but their grandchildren and great-children, as well. It is an incredible legacy of serving both individuals and businesses and John’s leadership and proven ability to build and maintain meaningful client relationships will enhance and build on what we offer. Settle most recently served as senior vice president and senior fiduciary advisor at Wells Fargo, where he and his team helped families and businesses meet their financial goals. Previously, he served as managing director in the Private Wealth Management area of SunTrust. He currently serves on the Investment Committee of the Cameron Foundation. A graduate of the University of Richmond earning both a B.S. and M.B.A., he went on to graduate from the Southeastern Trust School and the Executive Leadership Institute at the Virginia Bankers Association.
