William W. Clingempeel
Vice President & Senior Investment Officer

William (Bill) Clingempeel has 30 years of investment experience, and was most recently with BB&T in Roanoke, Va.  He holds a B.S. and MBA in Finance from Virginia Tech and the following certifications: CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CFP (Certified Financial Planner), ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), and CFS (Certified Funds Specialist).     Bill is an investment expert and experienced portfolio manager.  He helps individuals and corporations alike in developing and maintaining a portfolio to meet individual investment goals.

 

Debra C. Carlson
Vice President & Senior Trust Officer

Debra Creasy Carlson joined American National Bank and Trust Company in 2009 after practicing law in Danville for 18 years.  Her current title is Vice President & Senior Trust Officer.

Debra received both an Associate in Liberal Arts and an Associate in Business Administration in 1984 from Danville Community College.  She then transferred to the College of William and Mary and received a B.A. in Government in 1986.  Later she graduated from the Mississippi College School of Law in 1989 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) and from the University of Denver School of Law with an LL.M (Masters of Law in Taxation) in 1990. During her years of practicing law, her focus was on real estate and estate law.  She has been an adjunct professor at both Danville Community College and Averett University since the early 1990ís and continues to teach both business and legal courses at Averett University in their MBA program.

Debra is a graduate of the Cannon Financial Instituteís Personal Trust School, having completed the course in less than one year, and earning her CTFA as well.  She is active on the Danville Community College Alumni Board, where she completed three years as President and now serves as liaison to the DCC Educational Foundation. She also serves as a member of the Goodwill Industries of Danville Area Board of Directors, member of the Sacred Heart School Finance Board, and has served for many years as a member and on the Boards of numerous other local organizations. 

 

Wayne B. Davis
Vice President & Trust Officer

Wayne Davis joined the staff of the Trust and Investment division with over twenty five years of experience in the area of Trust Administration, including Personal Trust and Investment Management, Estate Settlement, Trust compliance, and Business Development. Wayne was at Regions Morgan Keegan Trust (Union Planters Bank) for many years, first as Vice President of Personal Trust administration, in Centralia and Belleville, IL and then as Senior Vice President and Manager of the Tyler and Longview, TX Trust offices. Prior to Union Planters Bank, Wayne was a senior officer and head of a community bank Trust Department in Lincoln, IL.

Wayne graduated from Southern Illinois University and he is a graduate of the American Bankers Association National Trust School, at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. He has served on many Foundation boards and Estate Planning councils and has taught many American Institute of Banking (A.I.B.) courses, including Basic Estate Planning, Principals of Banking, and Negotiable Instruments. He is a member of the Danville Kiwanis Club, a charter member and Board member of the Danville After Hours Rotary Club, and a member of the Greensboro Estate Planning Council. He is also a Board member and Treasurer of the Danville Area Humane Society.
 

John B. Hall, Jr.
Vice President &Trust Officer

John Hall has over 30 years of experience in trust banking with American National where he serves as Vice President & Trust Officer.

John received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.  He is a graduate of The Cannon Basic, Advanced and Graduate Trust Schools.  He has received additional training through Cannon Financial Institute and through attendance at seminars and classes sponsored by various organizations.  He holds the professional designation, Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA).  Johnís experience includes Estate Planning, Trust and Estate Administration, Personal and Fiduciary Taxation and Investments.

John is active in civic affairs.  He is a member of the Danville Estate Planning Council; Past President and current Board member of the Danville Community College Education Foundation, Inc.; Past President and Board member of the Free Clinic of Danville; Secretary of the Danville Host Lions Club; Board Member of the Danville Lions Foundation, Inc.; and Past Treasurer and an active member of First Baptist Church.  John is also Past President of the Danville Estate Planning Council; past member of the Virginia Bankers Association Trust Committee; Past President of the Danville Host Lions Club and Past Board Member and Past Treasurer of the Danville Area Humane Society.

 

Teresa O. Maddox
Assistant Vice President & Trust Officer
(Graves Mill Office in Lynchburg)

Teresa O. Maddox joined American National Bank and Trust Company in June of 2005, and has 23 years of experience in the Trust and Trust Tax area.  She is currently serving as Assistant Vice President & Trust Officer.

Teresa is a 2008 graduate of Cannon Financial Institute Personal Trust School.  In addition she has completed Cannon Personal Trust Graduate School in 2011 and has received additional training through attendance of various other seminars and classes.  Teresaís experience includes Estate Planning, Trust and Estate Administration and Investments. 

In addition to her professional career, Teresa is involved in various community activities and very involved with her Church.      

 

Lorrie K. Teegen
Vice President & Trust Officer

Lorrie Teegen joined American National Bank and Trust Company in January of 2004, and has over 30 years of experience in the trust field.

Lorrie is a 1987 graduate of the Cannon Trust School at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and the Advanced Administration of Estates and Trusts School.  In addition, she has successfully completed the Cannon Personal Trust Graduate School and Trust Tax School.  She has received additional training through Cannon Financial Institute and through attendance at seminars and classes sponsored by various organizations.  Lorrieís experience includes Estate Planning, Trust and Estate Administration, and Investments.

In addition to her professional career, Lorrie is involved in various community and professional activities.   She is on the Board of Directors and Treasurer for the Martinsville Cemetery Association

 

Daniel S. Little
Financial Advisor

Sid Little joined American National Bank and Trust Company in 2011 as part of the merger with MidCarolina Bank, where he had over nine years experience. Sid led the conversion of MidCarolina Bank's investment services business to Raymond James in 2005. Prior to joining MidCarolina, he worked in the securities business in Greensboro for 24 years. He is series 7, 8, 63, and 66 licensed, and also carries a North Carolina life and health insurance license.

 

Jon Paul Cassada
Financial Advisor

Jon Paul has been with American National since 2009 and has worked in the financial services industry since 2007. He is a native of Danville and attended Virginia Tech.  He led the bank's conversion to Raymond James in 2011. He is series 7 and 66 licensed and also carries life and health insurance licenses. 

 

Michael Westbrook
Financial Advisor

Michael Westbrook an alumnus of the University of South Carolina joined American National in 2013. Most recently served as a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch in Greensboro. He entered the financial sector after 25 years of success in pharmaceutical sales and sales management for GlaxoSmithKline. Westbrook will serve both the Alamance County and Greensboro regions, with offices in American Nationalís Green Valley Office in Greensboro as well as the Bankís Church Street Office in Burlington.
